Stephen Beeler14 Red and Club Co-Director

Steve just finished his fourth season as the head volleyball coach at Terre Haute South.  He, with Brian Payne,  is a co-founder of the club and the 14 Red coach.  Steve was brought into volleyball coaching through the boys program at Terre Haute South that started in 1997. His job as a 14's coach is to develop players for a higher level of play while taking into account the individual abilities of the players. He has coached club for ten years and has produced one two time AAU All-American. 

Jim Bertoli - Setter Academy and Specialty Sessions

Bertoli is a graduate of Ball State University. He enjoyed part-time coaching positions at Bishop Chatard High School, Grand Valley State College and Zone Six Volleyball Club before becoming head coach of men's volleyball at Dartmouth College in 1991 and followed his stint there with positions as head coach of women's volleyball at the University of New Orleans (1991-1995) and Montana State University (1995-1997) before ending his collegiate coaching career at Indiana State University (1997-2003). During his years in the coaching profession, his collegiate programs received numerous awards and recognition from Athletic Management Magazine , The NCAA News, Volleyball Magazine and Coaching Volleyball Magazine. Bertoli was the master of ceremonies for the 2002 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American Banquet and has been a featured speaker at numerous events including the Indiana State University Recreation & Sport Management Symposium, Leadership Wabash Valley and the American Volleyball Coaches Association conventions. Bertoli served on the American Volleyball Coaches Association Board of Directors from 2001 to 2003. He has been published twice with, Skills & Drills for Volleyball and Marketing & Promotions for Volleyball. Bertoli current sits on the board of directors for Crossroads of America Volleyball Club. He resides in Riley, Indiana with his wife, Pam and their three boys, Anthony, Ben & Jackson.

Amanda Fellows - 15 Red

Amanda is a senior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, majoring in mechanical engineering. She just completed her collegiate career at Rose-Hulman playing for Coach Brenda Goble. She graduated from Beavercreek High School in Dayton, Ohio, and earned 2 varsity letters for volleyball and played JV for 2 years. Amanda has played volleyball for 10 years and played for North Coast Volleyball Club for 3 years, and then Dayton Juniors for 2 years when the clubs merged. Amanda has enjoyed her previous seasons coaching and is looking forward to another great season.

Corey Frink - 14 Red Assistant

Corey graduated from Sullivan H.S. in 2000 and grew up playing volleyball in the sand since he was 12. He played for the Rose-Hulman's Men's team for 3 years, has been the assistant on 16 red and 16 white, and was the J.V. coach at Terre Haute South this past season with a record of 17-3.

Crystal Graham - 18 Red

Crystal is originally from Grandview, IL. She started playing volleyball in fifth grade then went on to be a four year starter for Kansas Bulldogs, Kansas IL. After high school she received a full scholarship to play volleyball at Lake Land Community College, Mattoon IL. After her two years at LLC she continued her volleyball career at University of Illinois at Springfield where she started as an Outside hitter with earning All-Region standings both years at UIS. After finishing her playing career at UIS she became the Assistant Coach for three years while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Human Services. Crystal also coached for Capital Area Volleyball Club in Springfield, IL for two years. Crystal currently resides in Terre Haute.

Samantha Gregory  - 14 White

Samantha is a Freshman at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She grew up in Huntsville, AL and has been playing volleyball since the sixth grade. Samantha attended Catholic High School where she played varsity volleyball for all four years. She earned her varsity letter and four pins while playing for Catholic High, where she was the captain her junior and senior years. Samantha was named a member of the 2006-2007 State 2nd team and was awarded all metro her senior year and all area her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She has played club volleyball for three years, two of which were on the power/travel teams for North Alabama Spiker’s Association. Samantha has completed her first college volleyball season as the libero for Rose-Hulman under the coaching of Brenda Goble.

Tricia Hall - 16 Blue

Tricia is a 2001 graduate from Shakamak High School and 2005 graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Science Education. She is currently a science teacher for Clay Community Schools and the varsity volleyball coach at Clay City High School. Trisha earned a varsity letter in volleyball 2 years while breaking all the assists records at the time. She is returning to the area after coaching in the Cowan Volleyball Program and at Lewis Cass High School. She is looking forward to working in the COA program for the first time.

Madison Hayne - 13 Red and 12 Blue

Madison has been a life long resident of Terre Haute, Indiana and graduated in 2005 from Terre Haute South. While at South, Madison earned three varsity letters in volleyball and two in basketball. She then attended Indiana State University and was a member of the Lady Sycamores Volleyball team. In the fall of 2006, Madison transferred to Oakland City University to continue her volleyball career. She had a record breaking season at OCU. The Lady Oaks placed 6th at the NCCAA National Tournament. Madison finished her playing career by being named the Mideast Player of the Year and 2nd team All-American.  Currently Madison is attending Indiana State and is the varsity assistant coach at Terre Haute South.

Lacey Heaton - 16 White

Lacey has a degree in social work, working for Hamilton Center, and pursuing a masters in social work through USI. Her volleyball career began as a 7th grader at Otter Creek Middle School, where she started playing COA her eigth grade year. She played for four years at Terre Haute North High School (varsity for 3 years, Gold Medal Award winner 2001, and played in a National Volleyball Tournament in Hawaii) and five years with COA. She then went on to play volleyball at Anderson University in Anderson, IN as a three-year starter in the outside hitter position. At Anderson she was awarded most improved her freshman year in 2002, made multiple all-tournament teams, selected as a Character Counts athlete in 2005, and was awarded Athlete of the Year in 2006. Since college Lacey has participated in intermural volleyball at the YMCA in Brazil but is excited about coaching COA volleyball and working with girls to improve their skills and game!

Amanda Jevons - 14 White Assistant

Amanda Jevons is a freshman at Rose-Hulman and is originally from Las Vegas, NV. She attended Rancho High School Medical Academy and has been playing volleyball since 9th grade and played varsity volleyball for 3 years. Her junior and senior year she was named varsity captain and received First- team all conference honors as well as MVP all region. While in high school she earned her varsity letter and for varsity pins. She went on to play club volleyball for Club Vegas for three years on the 16-1 and 18-1’s teams as an outside hitter and middle blocker. Currently, she is a freshman at Rose-Hulman playing varsity volleyball for Coach Goble as a fighting engineer.

Kevin Kumpf - 12 Red Assistant

Kevin Kumpf has coached varsity volleyball at Northview and is presently coaching 8th grade volleyball at North Clay. He has coached volleyball in Clay Co. since 1987 and was an official in volleyball for 12 years.

Emily Kennedy - 12 White

Emily has been playing volleyball in Terre Haute for the past 10 years.
As a city resident her whole life, she has played volleyball for local middle and high school teams, adult recreation teams, as well as winter competition leagues. Since graduating from Indiana State in May of 2006, she has coached in the COA Elementary League, assisted with Honey Creek Middle School Volleyball, and is looking forward to this upcoming season with COA.

Patty Mauer- Elementary League and Camps

Patty has had several years of experience coaching volleyball.  She was the varsity volleyball coach at her Alma Mater, North Decatur Jr./Sr. High School.  After moving to Terre Haute, she started the volleyball program at Saint Patrick School and acted as a volunteer coach for four years before becoming the JV coach at Terre Haute North.  Since leaving the high school realm, she assisted with the COA 14 Red team and helps with the fall instructional camps.

Brian Payne - 12 Red and Club Co-Director

Brian is the former head coach at Terre Haute South. While there, he led the team to three sectional titles and over 200 wins. He began playing volleyball competitively in 1987 while in high school. He has competed in the White River Park State Games and at the Boys' USVBA Nationals as a junior player. He then went on to be a part of the IPFW Men's Collegiate program for two years. He eventually finished his degree from Indiana State University. Along the way, he has been coaching club since 1991, when the local club was 'WVVC' under the direction of then ISU coach Rhonda Woodward. Along with Steve Beeler, they started what is today COA, and hope for success stories for the teams and individuals in future years.

Alisha Polite - 13 Red Assistant

Alisha is from Valparaiso, Indiana. She currently is a junior at Indiana State University majoring in Physical Education. She is a member of the Lady Sycamore Volleyball team. She played club for 11 years for Dunes Volleyball Club. She was a four-year letter winner in basketball and volleyball in high school and graduated in 2005.

Brittany Robinson - 16 White Assistant

Brittany grew up in Terre Haute and started playing volleyball when she was in the 8th grade. She played one year of COA and all four years in high school. Brittany went on to Indiana State University and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Management. She currently works in Human Resources at Bemis Company, Inc. Brittany is very eager and excited to coach COA for the first time.

Stacey Secrest - 16 Red Assistant

Stacey is from Dugger, IN. She is a sophomore at Indiana State University majoring in Psychology. Stacey began he volleyball career in the 5th grade. She was a four year letter winner in volleyball and basketball and three year letter winner in softball, at Union High School. Stacey was named All-State her junior and senior year for volleyball and also made the Indiana All-Stars as a senior. Stacey played for COA three years before she went on to play volleyball at Indiana State University. Stacey is looking forward to coaching for the first time!

Brandi Sturgill - 17 White Assistant

Brandi is originally from Boone, NC and graduated from Watauga High School in 2005 where she played three years of varsity volleyball.  Her senior year she was named All-Conference Volleyball Player of the Year and was selected as the top female athlete at her school.  She is currently a junior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where she is pursuing a Chemical Engineering degree with an Environmental Engineering minor.  Brandi played 6 years of club volleyball in North Carolina with the Appalachian Avalanche and just finished her third year under Coach Brenda Goble at Rose-Hulman.  Brandi is very excited to work with COA club volleyball and is looking forward to a great season.

Sara Telezyn - 12 Blue

Sara was born and raised here in Terre Haute and is now a freshman at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Sara started her volleyball career on the first 12’s team at Crossroads of America Volleyball (what is now COA). She played travel volleyball with COA for 5 years and earned varsity letters 3 years playing at Terre Haute South Vigo High School. Sara is very excited to coach for COA this year for the first time.

Chris Valenta - 17 White

Chris is a native of Chicago, IL and graduated from St. Francis High School in 2004 where he played volleyball. He is currently a senior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where he is pursuing degrees in Electrical and Optical Engineering. Chris has played for Rose's men’s volleyball team for four years and was the manager for the women’s volleyball team under Coach Brenda Goble. Chris is very excited for his first head coaching experience and is looking forward to a great season.

Amber Williams - 16 Red

Amber is originally from Lyons, IN. Amber is a senior at Indiana State University, majoring in accounting and minoring in forensic accounting and marketing. She began her volleyball career in 5th grade and continued playing until her senior year of high school where she was a four-year letter winner in both volleyball and basketball. During high school Amber played three seasons for COA. Amber began her coaching career with COA upon her graduation from high school. Amber has been a 12 Red assistant coach as well as a 14 White head coach. Amber is looking forward to another great season with COA.

Jessica Young - 15 Red Assistant

Jessica is a senior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and majoring in civil engineering. She played two seasons of volleyball for Coach Brenda Goble and two seasons of softball for Coach Brian Shearer at Rose-Hulman. Jessica graduated from Winchester Community High School in Winchester, Indiana. While in high school, she earned 4 varsity volleyball letters. She was co-captain as a junior and captain as a senior. She was named a member of 1st team All-Region and 1st team for the All-State Academic Team as a senior. This will be her first year coaching for COA and she is looking forward to starting off with a great season.
